I heard that some private bus owners are putting efforts to terminate ksrtc bus service from Mangalore to Mudipu. I am so sad by hearing this. so I am requesting all those people who travel in this route to register their complaint in DC office. One of traffic controller in ksrtc bus stand told that by registering complaint the issue may be resolved in favour of public.

Who ever have traveled in BMTC Bangalore, they know the felicity it provides. Just take a Rs 40 Pass and travel unlimited for 24 hrs in any bus/route. Pay Rs 650 and travel unlimited for a whole month. Free transport for kids upto 7th. 10 month 80% discount passes for college students. 30 % discount for senior citizens, and freedom fighters, free annual passes for physically impaired, Rs 1 lakh insurance cover if a passenger dies because of accident. Direct bus felicity to all major city centers avoiding it to travel to central bus station every the time.
Large spacious buses with low floors and wider seats. Also luxury Volvo and Macropolo AC buses at a reasonable fares, best for people who often take an auto.
No waiting at bus stands and no whistling of conductors. Automated doors to make sure of the safety.
People of Mangalore, Lets support the begining of KSRTC city buses and hope we also get all these felicities when the expand to 100%.

It's surprising to read from the comments that KSRTC is charging more and takes more time to reach destinations than private buses take.

As it is people in coastal region never like to depend on KSRTC, which is the last resort!!

Cleanliness of KSRTC buses is very dubious too.

I have spoken to KSRTC Volvo drivers who have spoken about their exploitation by Ashok, the transport minister who is only interested in taking kickbacks from Volvo and others in procurments of buses, and penalising the drivers even if it is a manufacturers fault relating to guarantee and performance of parts of the buses they drive. This aspect must be exposed fully.

BMTC, KSRTC are running shoddy and unsafe buses all over Bangalore and places like Bijapur, Gulbarga, Hublic, and rual Karnataka which i have travelled many times very recently.

Finally some relief to the commuters ,it would be well and good if more and timely services are delivered to remote areas where private buses do not complete their routine trips.

Rajesh Gonsalves, Mangalore / Cairo in your previous comment you credit to congi in support of Ismailji. Now you are giving credit to JH Patel ex CM. Please think properly whom to give credit to this good work and come back with your comment. Also for your kind information KSRTC got a very good shape under the present BJP govt. The good no of multi excel, benz buses were introduced during during BJP rule. Now please dont come with the comment giving credit to the Italian madam. Please except the fact what is right.

DEAR MR. RAMDAS,
WE CAN COMPROMISE WITH SPEED & TIME FOR SAFETY IF MORE GUARANTEED.
WHAT IS THE USE OF GOING FASTER & CHEAPER IF THERE IS NO SURETY OF REACHING WHERE YOU ARE GOING?
HOWEVER GOVT MUST MAKE SURE TO PROVIDE ALTERNATE EMPLOYMENT TO EXISTING SERVICE PROVIDERS.

Sandesh Shetty, Bangalore/Kudla
You may abuse the Congress party or its leaders as much as you want. Makes no difference to me. Let credit be given where its due. If KSRTC is in a good position today, a lot goes out to Late JH Patel, former CM. He was the one who split KSRTC (Also KEB) into divisions(NWKRTC, NEKRTC, KSRTC & BMTC). Interestingly he not only renamed BTS as BMTC, but changed its outlook from Red to Blue. Each divison was made accountable for its profit & loss. Thats what made the difference. Lastly all the best in your "congress hatavo desh kho bachavo" campaign. Hope your campaign does not end up like the one by Anna Hazare.

Thanks Ashoka.
The private buses charge too much.
Their drivers drive like suicide bombers.
They don't care for the safety of people.
Too rash with young girls/students.
Start more KSRTC buses in Mangalore & Udupi.
Give them a healthy competetion.

Friday, August 24, 2012

But fares are expensive and time taken also more compared to private buses.

KSRTC Bus stand to mudipu -16rs - 65 mins

KSRTC Bus stand to suratkal -14rs-45mins

Railway station to bajpe -15rs-45mins.

If its this way than people will prefer private buses itself. Concerned authority should make this changes soon.

I appreciate the the Govt actions introducing the KSRTC buses. Finally the fundamental facilities like transportation, water, electricity, Roads infrastructure, its Govt responsibility to provide to the public. It is very dangerous for the mangalorean to keep all the transportation systems in private hands for long run, Mangalorean are real lossers of govt facility, Now a days KSRTC buses are better than private buses, if compare the no of accidents cases, and type of buses, u can see very narrow high steps in the private buses whereas eldery people are struglling use it also the seats in the private buses are unscientific it is difficult accomodate 2 persons, unncessary competition, uneducated, untrainined drivers and coductors for public transport system. Introduce the KSRTC buses slowly 100% keeping in mind that pvt bus owners not fall in trouble at once. Let them find out some alternative in these times. Finally the provding safe transporation to the public is the own baby of the Govt. It is duty of the each public welcome the good gesture of the Govt.

My request is to provide jobs for local people who may loose their jobs if private buses are cut down. Just imagine how many local people will loose thier job and how many non united-South-karana people will be migrated to our place who will wont be knowing even the local language and culture. Also KSRTC will wont maintain clean buses. Regarding rash driving i dont have give any pride to KSRTC because i had lost my uncle when he was hit from behind by a KSRTC bus right in front of our government college in hampankatta a few years back.

But as mr sudarshan shetty commented it's the nature of your double standard party congress to grab the credit of good works done by others. I do not care if they use Leyland or Tata or Volvo or Mercedes buses as long as they provide safe and convenient service unlike the killing machines that are on the roads today. KSRTC is the best government transport organization in the country today and it is not because of any party. They have had the current management since many years during the reign of all three parties.

KSRTC should not be accepted in Tulu Nadu. People should reject these kesar rattisi busses. It will take away jobs of our tulu nadu bus drivers, conductors and support staff. Tulu nadu should be a separate state and tulu nadu trasport should be formed

We have seen this drama several times.

KSRTC won't work in Mangalore due to its lethargic timing and laid back attitude of the department and public has got used to private bus network.

The Mayor and the Chamber of Commerce of Mangalore with the consent of the Govt and the DC should advice the RTO to stop giving permission to different bus operators instead let them all join together and form a common 'KUDLA ROADWAYS'. The legal identity of Kudla Roadways should be Kudla Bus Limited (KBL), and it should be a wholly owned subsidiary of Transport for KSRTC that manages bus services within Karnataka State. Buses are required to carry similar design and colour schemes and conform to the same fare scheme. All services are provided by private sector operators. However, Kudla Roadways should maintain a close control over both the age and specification of the vehicles. If they have close control on the age of the fleet the old buses will be operated in other parts of the country after a few years' service.
The KSRTC department should sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Top Private Bus Operating Company and the Participation Framework Agreement should outline a process for which bus operators could turn in their vehicles and become shareholders in the new Bus Operating Company. This paved the way for the removal of all the private buses from the roads.
There should be a commonly designed Pole-Flag Bus Stops of high quality and also Bus Ticket Issuing Machines at important junctions close to any ATMs for passenger’s conveniences.
Long live Kudla! Jai Hind!!

its good initiative by the transport minister. i hope they start buses to places where there are no regular buses. one of the other move much needed is starting a ladies special especially in the mornings and evening. i have seen how evil minded men take advantage of women and young school/college girls in crowded buses. the women must push for this cause and make it happen. i hope women are feeling this evil minds taking advantage of them and if they don't mind it then let it go on

These KSRTC Buses have 'starting Point' at Bejai KSRTC Bus stand instead of State bank. The intention is to run these buses till next Assembly Election in May-2013, then show loss and stop the same. If they run these buses from State bank surely it will make profit, but they don't want it to happen. After all, the Private Bus owners are the people who give hefty Party fund to all Political parties.

At least now young girls can heave a sigh of relief, because the conductors of Private buses not only take opportunity to brush against the young girls intentionally, but also keep eye on the girls and inform Hinjave/Ramsena if at all any girl talks to any boy of other religion. The main informants (secret agents) of Hinjave/Ramasena are bus Conductors, Auto drivers, Bar-Resort-lodge Waiters, Roadside vendors, and salesmen of the Malls (all semi-literates).

I am glad that KSRTC started bus services probably this is time for the private bus owners to think how to provide better bus service in Mangalore.
I have travelled few years in Mangalore by private buses. I have seen how at every major stop conductor fights with the agent or other bus conductor, how rude they were with passenger, they even used to board passenger when there was no place to stand inside bus. When there was increase in petrol or diesel price without anyone’s permission from next day onwards they used to collect extra charges. Drivers or conductors didn’t have the patience to stop/start the bus until passengers get off/inside the bus because they wanted to pick the passengers at the next stop before the next one arrives.

I am really grateful to the management and the officials who has put their efforts towards implement of City Service within the city limits.

I really appreciate the M.D, D.C, staff, driver & conductor to introduce more and more city bus service with quality.

I also hope that the City Regional Transport officer gives his full support towards the move taken by K.S.R.T.C. granting more and more permits for the K.S.R.T.C. city buses to serve our City.

Always remember that K.S.R.T.C has been serving rural areas of our state where even diesel cost is not covered....for which Private City buses are not ready, they only look for profits and nothing else.

Therefore its our duty to support the state transport by using more and more services and by supporting the move taken by K.S.R.T.C in introducing City bus Services.

Very nice...it will reduce rash driving by private buses..on the other hand KSRTC should also keep in mind the families of private bus drivers and conductors bcoz of public bus they might lose thier jobs...

I will always prefer private buses-always clean, on time. My advice to those who prefer govt buses is to travel in BMTC in Bangalore.

This is a very good news to the locals of Mangalore traveling within the city. But my humble request to the drivers of these buses is not to ply the buses on competition/overtaking basis. Since this is a public service ,the drivers should see that every needy passenger is picked up with patience and see that he reaches his destination safely.
May the guardian Angel guide and protect all the drivers and conductors of these buses.
