It is always AI officials have trouble landing at this airport if it is fog problem they need to change their landing time table.

Guys Dont we deserve a safe airport? Than just sticking some Mangalore based tycoons confort they can reach within no time to home comparing to others 1 or 2 hours to others? Its better be late to your home than early to heaven. Think Twice. Its high time we need another safe International Airport.I have lots of sentiments with this airport since 1990 including my freinds dying couple of years back, i cannot take another one. Mangaloreans are taking everyday chances, infact air travel is safest and any collusion in mid air or technical, but we have runway which means you take your chance. God Bless us and save us we dont have any choice.

This Airport should be used as Cargo airport and for the Military use. This is not suitable for Passengers travel. Its on the top of a hill which is several feet above sea level and naturally clouds, fog and rain will interrupt the landing of planes, why blame AI Express they did a good job by diverting, deffintely they will increase the cost of ticket to cover this extra expenses which is paid by us so dont blame for the expensive ticket nothing is free. So its high time we will have a safe airport instead crying everytime.

It is time for the authorities concerned consider building a new International airport on a plane land in the twin districts of Udupi/DK. Fog is inevitable in hilly/ forest areas. It is amazing to see more and more taxpayers money is wasted on Bajpe airport with inherent risks and natural odds

I dont know why the Mangalore flights are diverted to Cochi when you have nearest airport Bangalore...

the latest status is some of the passenger are in cochin who will reach 9 in the night and some of the passenger are in calicut and already boarded the flight and ready for the take off. Customer care is not aware of this. The problem with the dubai flight is its timing and they have to change timing.

Parvez, this airport is domestic standard converted to international level. Why blame AI express for everything, we have no other option so support this airport else this is a dangerous airport where there could have been a more safer airport in another place. There are more dangerous airports in the world but we does not require to risk as we have enough land.

What are people talking over here?! blaming the runway/AI/AI fare etc!!!
Guys, AI has taken a right decision to divert the flight as its unsafe to land in this weather! you would be the 1st ones to blame AI if some calamity would occur durin this landing!! atleast sometimes learn to appreciate.

Passengers are taking a chance, i dont know till when in this dangerous airport, why blame AI express for this, we should blame the authorities for granting International status to this dangerous airport. The international Airport project was approved in Padubidri and that would be fantastic, but the local people objected and some bodies played politics for the vested interest. Now Padubidri people are crying for power plant in same place and they should blame themself for this. If there would be a proper Airport the place would have been improved. Mangalore airport no matter what it will remain dangerous and the scope for developments is limited as there is no proper land. Think another 10 years or more. This airport cannot be extended. Its a waste. Government better think another full fledged airport on coastal side where there is level ground from now onwards.

Its really astonishing fact that why Air India cannot change flight during day time. Both going and coming, dubai to mangalore and vice versa is odd. while coming from mangalore, childrens, single lady passenger will be in trouble in case if there is a cancellation. as it is very difficult to travel from mangalore to interior places. If this problem is persisisting they should atleast change the timing from night to day flight. Else they should allow other air lines to operate manglore sector

Mohammed Haneef, Belthangady/Abu Dhabi

Please change the flight timing or allow other airlines to operate to Manglore.

John Martin, Mangalore/Dubai
Thursday, August 23, 2012

Why change the timings or any other adjustments ?? Why not let other airlines allowed to operate from Mangalore ?? Then the monopoly of Air India Express will be over. Obviously it is not a budget airlines as it is called..!!!

No Airindia can not change the time cos they have only time to put the bill on the tax payer and pocket the money by providing the foul bills to you and me....... sell this AirIndia to TATA. then see how he can run the show in win win position.
