Kasargod: Ambition Overdrive? Man with 'UAE Police Car' Caught!

Kasargod, Aug 21: If you have chanced upon a UAE police car doing the rounds of Kasargod city, you would obviously have wondered what business it had in the city. Well, in reality, it had no business being there.

A person who probably wanted to impress or fool all and sundry with a police car, albeit a fake one, or perhaps, was simply enamoured by its design, has been arrested by the Kasargod police.

His crime - he altered his car as per the design and colour of the UAE police car, and drove it on the streets of Kasargod.

Abdul Javed, a 30-year-old resident of Alampady in Yeriapady is the owner of a Honda City car, which he 'decorated' with stickers and paint work exactly matching that of the Emirate police car.

In place of numbers on the number plate, the accused has printed the words ‘UAE Police’ in Arabic script!

Javed is known for driving rashly and disturbing other commuters while driving, say police. He was arrested near the new Bus Stand at Kasargod during a routine police check.

A case has been registered against him under the Motor Vehicles Act.
