Mangalore, Aug 16:
As per the MCC commissioner's order, the MCC officials on Thursday August 16 raided two pubs in the city for not possessing valid licence.

The new pub attached to Mangala Bar & Restaurant, Valencia and Liquid Lounge near Don Bosco hall were the two pubs raided by the MCC.

In Mangala Bar & Restaurant, the officials found there was no licence for the newly-attached pub (G6), and that the kitchen was not clean. In addition, even the food licence and the medical certificate were said to have expired.

The officials issued a notice asking the restaurant owner to renew the licence with a week.

In Liquid Lounge, the officials found that the restaurant did not have permission for a DJ and even the kitchen was constructed in a wrong place, violating MCC guidelines. The owner was asked to produce a valid licence and if necessary, to renew it.

Health inspectors Sushanth and Santhosh along with deputy health officer Raghunath were part of the raid operation.

For a moment I was thinking that these MCC officials were looking for the pub license in the kitchen and fridges. they aren't too bright until a bit of moolah changes hands, as is usually the case!

I'm sure hotels will raise thier price in order to keep thier place tidy. In essence, clearer and ambient place would be more service benefit for clients and hence, costs for hotel owner. In one way, MCC is making public to pay more moeny !

Well done MCC. Adulteration and Non hygine in food products, Duplication in Medicines & Liquors should be considered a Criminal Offence. There should be strict vigilence and serious law to curb this kind of cheatings.

Regular or surprise raids of any Bars , spas or any Pubs by MCC keeps control of any irregularities under control to an extent.A good move by the MCC and the Team work.

Why all of a sudden, the MCC Health Department started raiding the business establishments with media attention?
Such visits are regular bounded duty of spot inspection by MCC Health Dept that they never do otherwise. The word raid is used for clandestine and illegal activities inside any commercial or residential establishment and this is not so. If the MCC start inviting the media and start creating hype about a regular spot inspection and harass the established business premises then nobody will do future business ventures in this place or region.
For the development of our city and region we need revenue and that comes from the business houses and businessmen that come and establish their industries and units here. We have few of the best educational institutions and health complexes that attract lot of students and patients from outside. If we allow moral policing and also go slack in checking and regularizing the existing establishments, there will be fear among outside visitors and tendency to bribe the corrupt Govt departments respectively. We want the GenNext to check the Moral Policing nuisance and turn Whistle Blowers for any biased underhand practices.
Jai Hind!

from the pictures, I can see that is a quite clean kitchen and if MCC officials say it is not clean then they surely are after collecting bribe.
Also as per MCC, Mangala Bar had "NO" licence, food etc cert expired but issued notice to "RENEW" the licence within a week!!! Rather mind boggling!!! But MCC are doing a great job, creating terror amongst the traders/business community, industry same like those goonda organizations

Yes, this was public asking you Govt officers to do, go everyday like this kind of raid, you can find one hotels like this. Every where lickage in our country. Every one seeing interiors of the bars and restaurant, hotels,if we see the kichen we can not take any dishes. Like Dubai, muncipality is checking every where every day. If found any mistake or missuse of licence huge fines are there, here officers are gentlmans, not taking any bribe. In our country 100 rupee note is inhalf to buy any Govt officer. Jai Bharth Matha ki.
