Bantwal: Candle Light Vigil Procession Held for Rains

Media Release

Bantwal, Aug 9: Urged by the need to pray for public cause, and following the Circular of Mangalore Bishop, the Bantwal parish organized a day of prayer and penance to pray for the rains.

Parishioners flocked to the church from morning until noon on Tuesday August 7, to pray before the Most Holy Sacrament. Once again in the evening a candle light procession was held from Carmel Convent via the main road to the Church to pray as a community for continued rains.  Thereafter, they invoked the solemn Litany of Saints.

People attended the procession braving the incessant rains. They said, “We thank God for the good rainfall since Sunday.  But we need more rains not only here, but also in the other parts of Karnataka.  So we have come to pray for all”.

Fr Roque D’Souza, the Parish priest, assistant priest, Fr Anil D’Mello, along with the leaders and Gurkars came together to realize this project of prayer.
