Team Anna Disbanded, Work Over: Hazare

New Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS): Team Anna has been disbanded and the work that had started in its name has ended, its leader Anna Hazare announced Monday.

Hazare, who said he would be travelling across the country to "awaken people", wrote in his blog: "Today we end the work of Team Anna."

"Team Anna was formed to work for the Jan Lokpal. We have decided not to keep any relations with the government. So the work that started in Team Anna's name has ended here and the Team Anna committee also ends here," Hazare said in Hindi.

"Despite repeated agitations, the government is not ready to pass the Jan Lokpal bill. We will have to find good candidates and give an alternative to the people. This is a good way, I think so, but how will it happen is the question," Hazare said in the blog.

He said he would tour the country and "awaken the people".

Giving a message to his own team, he said: "We will keep the movement alive and send good people to the Lok Sabha. Power should not be in the heart and mind, to rule should not be the aim, it should be done as service to the people. If power and money is in the mind, there will be no difference between other parties and our party."

The team had Friday announced that it would join the political mainstream to continue its fight against corruption.

 

Anna lacks confidence in his team, says Congress

Anna Hazare lacked confidence in Team Anna and that's why he had disbanded his team, the Congress said Monday.

"Actually, we don't want to make any comment... Anna himself doesn't have confidence in his team that is the reason he has taken this decision. But it is up to him to take any decision," said Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi.

"It is up to him whether he wants to form a party with other political people or with his team or if he doesn't want to make any political party... it is not proper to make any comment."

Anna Hazare announced Monday that Team Anna had been disbanded. He said on his blog that "the work that has started in Team Anna's name has ended, the Team Anna committee also ends here".

Team Anna had Friday announced that it would join the political mainstream to continue its fight against corruption.

Good work of Annaji.LEADERS FROM TOP TO BOTTOm ALL ARE CORRUPTED THEY ONLY BOTHERED ABOUT THIER POCKETS HOW TO FILL THRE IS NO MOTIVE DEVELT ABOUT COUNTRY...if 10% of good people rest 90% corrupted how it will work Anna is fighting to pass the lokpal bill should pass then only there will be some good developments......i can see some commentors commenting instead of supporting commenting bad on Anna's team work effort too.

Anna and his team stood for the fight against corruption in our country, by earnestly wanting to bring in the Jan Lokpal bill. Sadly some people spent more time criticising him than supporting him. I salute this man as a brave and courageous Indian who came to the forefront to fight corruption.

During freedom struggle whole India was with Mahatma. But now the situation is different. Only 10 % of the population is with anna. If anything happens to Annaji no body will care including his own team. There are differences in his own team. Even if he make a party it will be difficult to control since everybody will be power hungry. I doubt anna team can control the new party and win in the election since it require lot of money and power. I salute & thank Anna and team for trying to bring a strong jan lokpal bill. He could not introduce the bill but atleast he brought awareness among the people about corruption. It is an eye opener.

After all the fasting and protest contesting elections , how will this end corruption ? How would be Anna in control of the actions taken in closed doors by is people ? Woudl they also not tend to be corrupt some way or the other , How can he Guarantee this to the people of India , forming a new polictical party and later joininh hands with BJP , Hope the voters get some enlightment

This can only happen if elections are held at ZERO cost to Candidates.
Following shall be implemented.
• Election expenditure of all types shall be banned.
• There should be no canvas except Government sponsored, MANDATORY review of each candidate by electronic media or print media. Governor should control the cost and the process, equal opportunities to all candidates to explain what’s their agenda before mass
• Candidates, interested to contest shall have certain “Prequalification”Prequalification shall be drafted and certified by local Panchayat/Munciparty and citizen committee ( Formed by the Sagacious, educated citizen, which includes men from outstanding contribution, social service, teachers ,etc.)

• The candidate should have no criminal record and background.
• Industrialist/Businessmen should relinquish their Business if they wish to contest.
• There should be no party funds.

Most important, the voter shall be minimum Matriculate passed.
Million dollar question is how this new requirements/ordinance/legislation will be implemented? The present NETAS will allow this to happen? Noooooooooo. Then who will fast?
One thing is sure British were more cultured than the present NETAS. If Gandhijee comes back and sit on ‘Aaamarana Satyagraha’ then also present NETAS will not care him.

Anna has to stop this, he thinks people are fool. First time when he started in Delhi he collected 1 crore rupees, to make more money he started his anshan in Mumbai, but his own Mumbaikars refused him and sufferred heavy loss. To recover and make more money he went again to Delhi, now he miserably failed. Now he has no option to make money so he will start his political party So the journey goes like this: Lokpal to Notepal to Votepal to lootpal.

Team Anna should form a new PARTY and should not support any existing party like... Congress/BJP. As Lokha Sabha is full of corrupt MP's, how they will approve Jan Pal Bill. They knows very well that if they approve the bill, they have to spend rest of thier life in jail.

This is the best decision Anna could take.

As I have always been commenting, since corruption cannot be erradicated in India, it should be leagalised.

Same as Alchohol/gambling/prostitution are legalised to a certain extent.

As long as our political system and Police are corrupted, no use in the citizens fighting for a corruption free India.
