Mumbai, Aug 1: Konkani Basha Mandal Maharastra, organized a Talent Contest at the St Antony’s parish hall, Malvani, Malad (West) here on Sunday July 29. It was organized at the aegis of Malvani parish unit of Konkani Basha Mandal Maharastra and parish priest Fr Austin Norris.
The competitions were held in singing, elocution and dance, among sub-junior, junior and senior categories. The Konkani speaking students from suburban Nallasopara, Jerimeri, Mahakali, Andheri, Malvani, central suburb of Dadar and Dombivali participated in the contests.
Leo Rode, Kenneth Jujart (Kenny), Francis Fernandes, Tony Martin, Saby Fernandes and Peter Xavier Mendis were the jurors of contest.
Tony Martin announced that the prizes to the winners of contest will be presented during Konkani Devas, scheduled to be held at Karnataka Sangh auditorium, Matunga (West) here on Monday August 20.
Konkani Basha Mandal Maharastra honorary secretary Lawrence D’Souza Kamani, deputy secretary Cyril Castelino, assistant treasurer Walter D’Souza Jerimeri, Stany Dias, Vincent Castelino and Benedicta Rebello were present at the occasion.
Cyril Castelino compered the programme. Lawrence D’Souza Kamani proposed the vote of thanks.
Tony Martin urged Konkans to attend in large numbers Konkani Divas celebrations at Karnataka Sangh auditorium, Matunga (West) here on Wednesday August 20.
