Doha: Tulu Koota’s Health Symposium Creates Awareness

Doha, Jul 27:
Tulu Koota Qatar organized a health awareness symposium through the help of some of the well-known doctors of Qatar recently at the Al Hendasa Complex.

The symposium began with the welcome address by Supriya Bhat followed by lighting the traditional lamp. Tulu Koota president in his keynote address explained about the necessity and benefits of organizing health awareness camps and symposiums.

                  

The speakers of the day Dr Murthy, ophthalmologist at– Naseem Al Rabeeha Medical Clinic, Dr Sakeena Sanadi, cardiac sonographer of HMC, Qatar were then introduced the gathering.

Dr Pillai briefed about back pain related ailments and causes of back pain. He also explained about the ways to avoid back pain by maintaining proper sitting and sleeping positions. His good thoughts about diets and proper food habits balancing calories with proper intake and maintaining health were well-appreciated by the gathered. The elderly were also informed about keeping themselves fit and fine through regular mild exercises.

Dr Murthy who originally hails from Andhra Pradesh started off by speaking in Kannada and spoke about preventing eye related diseases. He also suggested of donating eye through eye bank which is indeed a noble cause in one’s life. He also mentioned about vitamins necessary to strengthen eye muscles and how the women should take care of themselves during pregnancy to protect the baby from blindness or other eye diseases during birth.

Dr Sakeena’s presented the right awareness with illustrations of First Aid in different cases. She started off by briefing about the ways to identify the accident and the its cause in order to give the right first aid and temporary treatment before the arrival of emergency unit.

Her detailed illustrations on first aid in the event of burn and insect bites with proper procedures and demonstrating with the use of slides were of great help to the gathered who were eager to acquire more knowledge to health issues.

Further Dr Sakeena also made it a point to demonstrate CPR and how to prevent the patient from going into coma and treating him/her before the arrival of emergency unit.
