Udupi: Sixth Batch of Manipal BBM Students Inducted

Udupi, Jul 23: Department of commerce, Manipal University, recently inducted its sixth batch of BBM students.

M Narendra, chairman and managing director, Indian Overseas Bank, inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Narendra highlighted on the current banking scenario and challenges ahead for the financial institutions in restructuring the global economy. He also spoke on the benefits of the specialised banking and finance programme to the financial institution in finding market ready talent.

Arati Porwal, country head, Chartered institute of Management Accountant (CIMA), India Liasion was the other chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Porwal highlighted on the history and growth of the professional degrees in today’s dynamic world. “A value add job prospect always seeks a value-add degree”, she said.

Dr H N Uday Shankar, registrar evaluation, Manipal University, Manipal, presided over the function. Dr Shankar spoke on the world class education imparted by the Manipal University.

Sandeep S Shenoy, head of the department, department of commerce, welcomed the gathering. Shenoy briefed highlights of the course and the bright future ahead for the students through Manipal University.

Guru Prasad Rao, assistant professor of the department delivered the vote of thanks.

Satish U Pai, managing director, Manipal Media Network Ltd, was the special invitee for the occasion. U D Acharya, CEO, Ad Syndicate, Manipal, along with other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
