Though MCC Bank has completed a century of its existance,it is premitive to talk of competing with other private banks/PSU bank in terms catering the needs of the customer. It is good and essential too having decided to introduce CBS at all the branches. This should be done forthwith without any loss of time. Then install ATMs,facility of SMS,Mobile banking, electronic transfer,RTGS,NFt etc.,It is equally essential to embark on branch expansion state wide and instill confidence among existing staff, provide training and prepare them to takeon bigger role.New staff recruitment be done and properly trained.
Since bank has no considerable NPAs new loan/deposit be introduced. Most required is retail products that suits the nees of common man such as retails, salary class, professional,Hsg loans, mortgage loans etc.,Unless above aspects are taken care of bank can not think of any competiton.Good courtecious service is very much necessary as there dire need of it.WHile thinking in terms big terms it is equally important bank should omeout from conservetiveness and commumnity clout.

MCC,

See if you could invest depositers money in safe real estate properties in Mangalore and give good returns to depositers since most depositers cant/wont have stomach to invest in risky deals.

Kuwait Finance House in Kuwait does this successfully since long time.

To compete with well established banks you have to be innovative...and you should give your customers what traditional banks dont give or dont care to give...

Regards,

Langoolacharya.
