Mangalore: Brave Fisherman Saves Two, Gets Washed Away

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (VM)

Mangalore, Jul 21: Strong waves washed away a person at Kotapura Kodi at Ullal here on Saturday July 21, during a rescue effort to save two others.

The person has been identified as Michael D'Souza, a fisherman from Uliya in Ullal.

At around 6.30 am, two other fishermen David and Jayaram fell into the sea after their boat capsized. Michael who was at the spot rushed to their rescue.

Though he was able to save both David and Jayaram, he himself was washed away by the waves.

Rescue teams, police and locals began a search operation to locate Michael, but so far they have been unsuccessful.
