Udupi: Sea Erosion Across District Damages Roads, Uproots Palms

By Inchara—Udupi
Daijiworld Media Network—Udupi (RD)

Udupi, Jul 2: Sea erosion has intensified along the shoreline in the district owing to torrential rains and heavy gales on Monday July 2.

Ferocious sea waves are lashing the shoreline damaging the fisheries road at Udyavar Padukere, Hejamady, Muloor, Kaup–Padu, Yermal, Kota, and the well known Maravante beach.   Several palms were uprooted in sea prone areas in the Arabian Sea. Many houses that are located near the fisheries roads are facing imminent danger due to a surge in sea waves.

The ongoing four-lane conversion work without proper drains is causing flash floods along national highway 66 at Kaup, Yermal, Padubidri, Katpady, Udyavar, and Udupi.  The locals urged the district administration to take early measures in this regard.

Not sure whether the present State Govt. is aware of this since some of the lunatics are too busy with internal fights and hindering the development.

THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT IN KARNATAKA SO WHO WILL SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. ONLY GOD HAS TO SOLVE IT. MINSTERS ARE BUSY FIGHTING FOR CM'S CHAIR. WHERE THERE IS A GOVERNMENT ? SHAME ON BJP GOVERNMENT. ALL ARE HUNGRY FOR POWER AND MONEY. NO ONE IS BOTHERED ABOUT THE ADMINISTRATION. LET COMON MAN GO TO HELL. WHY THE CM AND MINISTERS ARE BOTHERED. ONLY DURING ELECTYION THEY COME TO VISIT HOUSES BEGGING FOR VOTES AND GIVING ALL FALSE PROMISES. ONCE THEY COME TO POWER FOR 5 YEARS EVERYTHING IS FORGOTTEN. THIS IS THE WAY THE PREST BJP GOVERNMENT IS WORKING. WHEN THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT WHERE THERE CAN BE A DISTRICT ADMINISTARION ? IN KARNATAK ITS FREE FOR ALL. THE MINISTERS CAN LOOT WITH SCAMS AND WHEN CAUGHT THEY CAN COME OUT WITH BAILS BY PAYING COURTS AND JUDGES A HUGE AMOUNT TO GET BAIL.

Sea erosion in twin districts of coastal area (UDUPI/MANGALORE)is a long standing issue which are not dealt properly by successive Govts of state and Centre. This issue needs permanent and comprehensive solutions which needs people's rep's effort and cooperation from across the Parties.Every monsoon season we are witnessing sea erosion which is a common scene in twin districts of coastal areas. Ministers/MP/MLAs are just visits the spot and promises to be fixed but to no avail till next monsoon.A master plan for sea erosion barrier should be implemented ASAP to limit the danger and material loss.
