Sharjah: SMMKC to Present Wilson Olivera Nite on November 23
Sharjah, Jun 28: The St Michael's Mangalorean Konkani Community (SMMKC), Sharjah will host 'Wilson Olivera Nite' on November 23 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai from 6 pm onwards. It will be the first ever Konkani mega show from SMMKC. The spectators will witness popular and latest compositions of Wilson Olivera during the show.
Wilson Olivera who is well known as 'Sangeeth Sardar' has composed over 800 songs of his own in Konkani and has six music albums to his credit. Wilson not only has captured the hearts of Konkani music lovers with his meaningful lyrics but also with his melodic voice as well. He has also been bestowed with titles 'Konkan Manik' and has been awarded with the prestigious, 'Konkani Kala Samaj Puraskar' in 1995, 'Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Award' in 2003, 'Divo Sahitya Puraskar' in 2008 and 'Konkani Surdas Puraskar' in 2009.

Ronald Olivera will be the compere of the music show. The younger brother of Wilson Olivera, who has won the international Toast Masters Awards for four consecutive years, Ronald will be present at the event not only to cheer on his elder brother but also to entertain the audience with his slapstick humor, wit, suave charm, and warmth. Apart from being recognized as an international toast master, Ronald has also contributed a great deal to the world of Konkani music by compering for shows by many famous artistes like the legendary Konkan Kogul late Wilfy Rebimbus, Henry D'Souza, Melwyn Peris, Claud D'Souza, late Mick Max, Maxim Pereira, Goan Nightingale Lorna and Esther Noronha. With his wit and graceful humour, Ronald will be sure to keep the audience entertained
Noted orchestra maestro Adrian Gomes, the master of all musical instruments and the man who composed music for Wilson Oliver's 3rd and 4th music albums and who also have 3 instrumental albums for his credit will be the music director of this show. He will be accompanied by the well known music troupe of Ramiro Mascarenhas which is one of the popular music bands and has rendered their music abilities for many Mangalorean and Goan shows in the UAE. Adrian Gomes also had the privilege of playing musical accompaniment to renowned orchestras and performed for several renowned Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil screen playback singers and directors like O P Nayyar, Dr P Susheela, Vasundhara Das etc. He had also directed many Wilson Olivera's shows in Gulf region in past and the recent 31st Wilson Olivera Nite held at Sasthan early this year. His musical expertise along with Ramiro's team is guaranteed to set your hearts on fire at this event.
Along with Wilson, the man of the nite himself, we also have renowned singers like Rony D'Cunha, Rathan Castelino, Pradeep Pinto, Prasanth Pinto, Zeena Pereira, and Preema Rodrigues, who are well-known in the Konkani world of music and who with their harmonious voices have been contributing factors in the success of Wilson's many music albums and shows, thus leading this musical show to be even more of a success.
Apart from 'Gaana', the musical nite will also witness the famous comedy group of the Konkani world 'Me-Mo-Ri' who are guaranteed to keep you entertained all along. With their rib-tickling jokes and one- liners, even the ones with the most serious looks on their faces are bound to burst into peals of laughter.
The popular 'Ocean Kids' and 'Feat Beat' dance troupes of UAE with their astounding moves, will make you get up from your chairs and shake a leg with them for this event. The choreographers of the troupe are Vinod Sequeira and Arun Lobo, popular for their dance and choreography.
