Mumbai: Prof Sitaram R Shetty Memorial Book ‘Abhirama’ Released

Mumbai, Jun 18: Prof Sitaram R Shetty felicitation committee organized the book release of ‘Abhirama’ in memory of veteran social activist and Kannada litterateur Prof Sitaram R Shetty, Dr M Vishveshwarayya auditorium, Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West), on Saturday June 16.

Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura presided over the programme on Saturday evening.
 
Karnataka VHP president Dr Yerya Laxminarayan Alva inaugurated the programme and released the book ‘Abhirama’ on the occasion.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura released ‘Kaljigada Datadruste’, the Tulu book authored by Prof Shetty.

World Bunts Federation vice-president Aikala Harish Shetty, Bunts Sangh women’s wing president Lata P Shetty, regional committee former president Jayaram Shetty Inna, World Tulu Sammelan Committee vice-president Dharmapal U Devadiga, Bombay Bunts’ Association president lawyer Ratnakar V Shetty, women’s wing president Shailaja A Shetty, Thane Bunts Association president chartered accountant K D Shetty, veteran littérateur Dr Sunita M Shetty, Pimpri–Chinchwad Bunts Sangh former president Vishwanath D Shetty, ‘Karnataka Malla’ Kannada daily editor Chandrashekar Palettadi, Kumari M Shetty, Kaup Bairaguttu Guttinar Ramesh Shetty, Yakshamanasa organization president Shekar Raju Shetty, Janu Shetty Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust president Sitaram J Shetty, Thane Vartaknagar Kannada Sangh former president Polya Umesh D Shetty, Jaycees India east zonal president Udayakumar Shetty Inna, and Prakash B Rao were present on the dais.

Felicitation committee honorary president Prakash B Bhandary welcomed the gathering. President and lawyer K P Prakash L Shetty delivered the introductory address. Committee vice-presidents lawyer Subash B Shetty, lawyer Padmanabha Shetty, chartered accountant R K Kotian, Sukumar N Shetty, honorary treasurer Ravi S Hegde Hermunde, joint secretaries Vasant N Suvarna and Balakrishna Shetty Ajekar, joint treasurers Devdas T Shetty and Navin Shetty Innabalike, and ‘Abhirama’ book chief editor Kodu Bhoja Shetty were also present.
 
Sa Daya (Dayanand Salian) and Ashok Pakkala compered the programme.  Vasant N Shetty, Prakash Hegde Kuntini, Sanat Kumar Jain, Arusha N Shetty, Dr Karunakar M Shetty and Harini Shetty introduced the dignitaries.  Honorary secretary Suresh Shetty Yeyyady proposed the vote of thanks.
 
Bharatanatyam show by the disciples of Shailaja Madhusoodan and ‘Sudhanwa Kalaga’ Yakshagana play were staged under the direction of Ajekar Balakrishna Shetty as part of the entertainment programme.
