Bellary: Cash-for-Bail Scam a Major Worry for Sriramulu

Bellary: Cash-for-Bail Scam a Major Worry for Sriramulu

Bellary, Jun 11 (Deccan Chronicle): The cash-for-bail scam in which an Andhra Pradesh CBI court judge allegedly received monetary favours for granting bail to jailed mine baron Janardhan Reddy, has cast a shadow on former minister and Independent MLA B Sriramulu’s plans to launch his new party.

Sriramulu who considers Janardhan Reddy his mentor, was planning to do this after concluding his 921-km walk from Basavakalyan in Bidar district to Bangalore.

With reports suggesting that Bellary City MLA Gali Somasekhara Reddy, elder brother of Janardhan Reddy and his son-in-law and Kampli MLA Suresh Babu may be arrested by the Andhra Pradesh government’s anti-corruption bureau (ACB) in connection with the scam, the launch of BSR Congress may not be a mega event, said sources.

Somashekhar Reddy and Suresh Babu are close associates of Sriramulu. Sources said the Bellary City MLA is accused number two while Suresh Babu is accused number four and Janardhan Reddy accused number seven in the FIR filed by CBI sleuths in the cash-for-bail scam. The eldest of the three brothers—former revenue minister Karunakar Reddy— has reportedly distanced himself from the political plans of the Janardhan-Sriramulu combine.

While Sriramulu had claimed that his padayatra was intended to respond to the plight of those affected by the natural calamity, his real goal was to lay a foundation for his newly floated political outfit. He also wanted to prove a point to his former party, the BJP, that though Janardhan Reddy was in jail, they could still dictate the state’s political course as they did in the 2008 Assembly elections.

Why the high grade eco-friendly Kuduremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd has been shut down for several years now on the flimsy ground of spoiling paddy fields downstream is again cash to the Judge by the Jindals to kill competition. Not even a speck of dust spills out of mining activity - such is the technical finesse. Yet, Rs 60 lacs was enough to pass a legal verdict.

Since the BJP govt. in Karnataka was formed by way of "Operation Kamala" by using Reddys' money there is no legal status or recognition for the Govt. The govt. becomes illegal or invalid.

In olden days politics had morality ethics and human touch.Now-a-days money rules politics.Just for a allegation of Phone taping erstwhile CM of Karnataka, late RAMAKRISHNA Heggde tendered his resignation!Late Bangarappa, then CM Karnataka asked to tender his resignation when classic Computer scandal cropped up!CM Ibrahim, then cabinet minister of Karnataka asked to quit when the episode of ROLEX WATCH(ROLEX watch presented to him by Shiek of Gulf Country)!

Now feel the difference..the man who raped (Halappa, then minister)not issued @least a show cause notice by his party forget sacking from the party)YEDY/REDDY corrupt CM/T.minister almost looted Karnataka still no news from Party! These are few instances and BJP Party just silent spectators only.Should they taken actions against those erroneous lawmakers then the condition prevailing today would not be there.BJP of Karnataka did big damage to the goodwill of Karnataka in all fields.Ramulu, independent MLA did get drub when Reddy and S Babu named in the FIR in the cash for bail episode. But there is no change in the people's mood in Bellary and it already snapped from BJP.
At least now we need a change for a prosperous and peaceful Karnataka.
