Mumbai: Show on Yakshagana’s Growth in Metro Held

Mumbai, Jun 11:
Under the aegis of Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, Bangalore, Graduates Yakshagana Committee–Mumbai, the Karnataka Sangh staged the first ever show on Yakshagana’s growth in the metro at Karnataka Sangh auditorium, Matunga (West), on Saturday June 9.

Karnataka Yakshagana Academy president Professor M L Samaga presided over the programme.



Karnataka Yakshagana Academy registrar D R Maithili, entrepreneur and Yakshagana sponsor Polya Umesh Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.

Karnataka Sangh honorary chief secretary Dr Bharat Kumar Polipu welcomed the gathering. Graduates Yakshagana Committee president H B L Rao delivered the introductory address.  Professor M L Samaga delivered the keynote address. Yakshagana artiste Surendra Kumar Hegde compered the programme. Graduates Yakshagana Committee honorary secretary Nataraj P S proposed the vote of thanks. 

A Yakshagana Talamaddale was staged under  the leadership of Professor M L Samaga, Sheni Shyam Rao, and H B L Rao as part of the cultural programme.  Bhagavat Jayaprakash Niduvannaya and Anand Shetty Inna assisted in the playback music.
