It is wise for Karnataka BJP govt. to look at the results from the previous bandhs in Kerala.
The bandh is nothing but a hardship to daily wage laborers and unofficial holiday for middle class.
The destruction of public property in the name Bandh is equivalent to the act of terrorismboth had similar results.
Moreover do you suggest strikers for Ambulances who carry a critical patients?
Kindly advice your higher command BJP govt to reduce state tax on fuel?

After having read some of the comments feel sad that there is appreciation of the problem in hand. There is only BJP bashing by some and Congress bashing by the rest. The questions are:
a) How is Kottari to decide what I should do on a particular day in free India ?
b) How will people of the corrupt govt at the center ( like that in the State) get affected if people are inconvenienced in Mangalore ? Are people bothered about the daily wager and fruit vendor who are the most affected ?
Writing in Capitals is like trying to shout the loudest with the hope of out shouting others.Is that the solution ? Countless bundhs and shouting matches have taken place in this country - Has it helped ? If anyone has a solution to this problem please write in detail in language, tone and tenor that makes sense, seems logical and based on research, data and facts - If someone can do that I am sure all will vote for you and you will become the next MP from Mlore. Or else most of us will be just another foot soldier of some political party or other trying in vain to garner support - like a door to door saleman only to have the door shut on your face or a pet dog chasing you.

BJP has the power to reduce sales taxes in K'taka which is almost 50% of the cost of petrol. It seems they need a issue to observe bundh instead of finding a solution.

Further it seems , newly weds need to seek permission from this kottari to celebrate first night. As many commentators said, price hike a universal phenomenon on current fall in rupee rate against dollar. As some wisely said, petrol is not springs in our back yard and we have to depend other countries where the trade is takes place in dollar. Any variation in dollar rate in the international market will reflect in rupee rate.

Basic Price (based on the Crude rate) = Rs.43.00

Central Govt Cess & taxes 24% = Rs. 20.00

State Govt Taxes 23.4% = Rs. 19.00

Total = 82.00

The only solution is to freeze and reduce the taxes by state and central govt.

Out of Rs.81.00 you pay for a liter of petrol Rs.20.00 goes to state treasury as taxes. Goa govt reduced taxes on Petrol, Kerala govt. reduced taxes on Petrol, Now, Delhi govt. also reduce taxes on Petrol. This BJP can carry on the BUNDH once the cess is reduced by State Govt. in Karnataka.

We need to do India Bandh permanently for Italy Lady. Then only common man can live in this country.
