Doha, May 24: The finals of ‘Soad-3 International’, the television singing contest presented by Mandd Sobhann in association with MCC Qatar, will be held in Qatar on Friday May 25.
As announced earlier, Sana Britto and Naveen Pinto are already in the finals from Doha. Now, the organizers have announced the two other finalists each from Goa and Mangalore to contest for the coveted titles ‘Rani Kogull-International’ (Queen Cuckoo) and ‘Rai Kogull-International’ (King Cuckoo).
Robin John Sequeira, son of Richard and Florine Sequiera from Valencia, and Carol Monteiro, daughter of Pascal and Christine Monteiro, are the two finalists from Mangalore.
Akash Telgu and Queenie Fernandes have qualified from Goa to contest in the finals. Along with the titles, winners will also pocket a cash prize of Rs. 1 lac each.
All finalists will also receive cash awards. The ‘Best Duet’ also will be decided at the finals.
MCC Doha, which is at the threshold of celebrating its glorious 20th anniversary, is all set to organize what is estimated to be one of the biggest Konkani events organized by any organization.
More than 100 guests from India and Gulf countries are lined up to attend the show. MCC has offered a grand welcome to each one of them along with the Konkani audience from Doha, which hails from Mangalore, Goa, and other parts of India.
Ronald Colaco, philanthropist, and NRE entrepreneur, will be the chief guest at the event.
Former Goa chief minister, speaker of the state assembly and also Pradesh Congress president Francisco Sardinha is the chairman of the Lok Sabha’s committee on estimates who will be the guest of honour for the event along with Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, the Indian ambassador to Qatar, Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld.com, and Stany Alvares, president, Mandd Sobhann.

Three personalities from the music industry—Guru Kiran, noted Kannada music director, Tomazinho Cardozo, noted personality from Goa, and Kuwait's well-known Konkani singer Rony D’Cunha will be the judges for the contest.

With six talented singers from Mangalore, Goa, and Qatar vying for the Rai Kogull and Ranni Kogull titles in the presence of experienced and acclaimed judges, Soad-3 final promises to be a spectacular contest. Add to it Arunraj Roadrigues’ suave compering and experience of Mandd Sobhann and MCC Qatar in hosting mega shows, the music buffs have a super Friday in store.
