Panaji, May 23:
Goa Police have arrested a man for raping and murdering four year old girl in the Quepem town, 80 kms away from here.

Body Sima Moti Khan of the girl living in Kurla Mumbai and on vacation in Goa at her grandparents place in Quepem was recovered from an under-construction building in the town on Tuesday.

The accused Dipak Kumar (22) a labourer, originally hailing from Begulsarai in Bihar has confessed to the crime of sexually abusing the girl and later putting her to death on Sunday evening.

Police Inspector Santosh Desai said that the labourer lured the girl to a building and raped her on Sunday evening. Fearing that she will reveal about the rape to her grandparents, he killed the girl by strangulating her.

The four year girl was playing with other kids on Sunday when accused offered her a chocolate and took her to an under construction site, where she was raped.

Police claimed that the crime was handiwork of Dipak Kumar alone and ruled out possibility of any more arrests.

He should be severely punished in public and tortured and given the treatment meted out in the Gulf and public flogging which he will surely get now knowing how prisoners are treated in the country
