Mangalore: Bishop Ordains Five Carmelite Deacons to Priesthood

Mangalore, Apr 21: The ordination ceremony of five deacons belonging to the Carmelite religious order was held at Infant Jesus Shrine, Bikarnakatte, on Friday April 20.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D?ouza ordained the deacons in the presence of Karnataka-Goa Carmelites Provincial Superior Fr Archibald Gonsalves.

Andhra Pradesh Carmelite Provincial Superior Fr Johannes Gorontca, Fr Rony Serrao, Fr Pius James D'Souza, Fr Joe Tauro, Fr George Santumayor, Fr John Sequeira, Fr Joseph Cardoza, Fr Elias D'Souza, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas and other clergy participated in the Eucharistic celebration.

Fr Deepak Tauro conducted the liturgical service. Deacons Arun Sunil Lobo, Vijay D'Costa, Anil Veigas, Denzil Veigas and Roshan D'Souza were ordained as Carmelite priests by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza during the Eucharistic celebration.

Fr Archibald Gonsalves and Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza congratulated the newly-ordained priests and their parents on the occasion. The newly-ordained priests thanked their parents and superiors for an opportunity to serve God.

Fr Pius James introduced the new priests and Fr Rudy Pinto compered the programme.
