Mangalore: Retired Police Officer G A Bawa to be Felicitated on Mar 7

Mangalore, Mar 6: G A Bawa Abhinandana Samithi will be organizing a felicitation programme for retired police commissioner G A Bawa at Town Hall on Wednesday March 7 at 4.30 pm.

Renowned journalist Ravi Belagere will deliver the keynote address. Yenepoya University chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi will preside over the programme.

Education expert Professor K E Radhakrishna, sandalwood actor Jayamala, and Nitte University chancellor N Vinay Hegde will be the chief guests on the occasion.

G A Bawa Abhinandana Samithi president M Sureschandra Shetty, members Dr Kripa Alva, K Suresh Ballal and Ashwini Kumar Rai, and convener Ummer U H were present at the press meet.

City police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh will unveil the screening of a documentary on the life of Bawa, produced by Mangalore Media Centre.

Bawa is an exemplary police officer who had humble beginnings.  Despite poverty, he pursued his aspiration to excel in life and career.  His sense of duty had taken him to extremes of adventure.  He was humane and compassionate to all those who had a little hope, regardless of caste, creed, and religion.  Bawa has inspired many to succeed in life, despite the daily struggles and lowest means.
