Shetty, this guy is a crook as he looks. I'm telling this because this guy is a known offender. This guy was involved in petty thefts, betting, gambling and a full time drunkard. Now he has tried to make quick buck by stealing gold from bank. This guy should be severely punished so that he does not commit such crimes in future.

It is rediculous, the bank job is very rewarding & secure job, still people are greedy and doing miscreant acts. I feel now a days educated class become more corrupt than uneducted to lead a lavish life style

What Dayakar Shetty has done is unpardonable, disgacefl and act is untenable. He has brought shame to the banking fraternity in genetal and for Vijaya bank in particular. Here equally responsible are the joint key holders who have failed in their normal duty to main it with proper care.Even a small inclination to steal may get flared up when oppertunity strucks. This has what actually happened. The incident is an eye opener and warning to key holders in the banks reminding deligence.Any deligence may direct them to home.
It is high time Banks Head office/Regioal office to circulate cautionery note to reiterate adherance of laid down safty norms in letter and spirit to avert any such siruation in future anywhere. It is important to be in news for good reasons in public offices.

When a common man does this, it comes in the media with a nice picture with police on either side. When big people like Yeddy, Reddy, Lalu or Mayawati do this, it is called a scam and they are allowed to go scotfree for lack of evidence. My friends, this is called politics.

Readers have shown little sympathy towards clerk (including me).No one has written HANG HIM or SHOOT HIM. That is a good gesture on our part. But do you know that because of him Bank Manager and Asst Manager had to take all blame and they had to pay Rs.4 Lakhs as per the instruction from Head Office. Thanks to Police Team who cracked the case very well. Now Manager and Asst Manager are having sigh of relief ! God is Great.Dayakar Shetty.. please be in the jail with peace.

Mr.Dayakar being an employee of the bank made theft is as good as he made theft from his house itself.
Irrespective of whatever salary he is paid bank staff scale is above middle class unless he had some personnel problems which should not come inbetween. the punishment deserves more than an ordinary theft by outsider since he is insider BREACH OF TRUST also.

A unfortunate greedy incident of Mr Dayakar shetty.A incident will effect his life as well as his family ,specially the parents.  A short term benefit, a loss of respect and trust of his entire life. It is shame to seen sometimes, in rural area branchs, some clerks even seen drunk while in duty itself.A pity to watch.

I pity this guy that he did the most foolish thing in his life. Now, he will lose his job with no chance of re-joining, plus a jail term. Very difficult to come out of this major crisis in his life!!!

The biggest question here is how come the gold was kept under single custody? Usually banks keep valuables in dual custody under number locked vaults or safes. The bank needs to explain their lapses in policy to regain customer confidence.

Dear Brothers and sister this is not fault of Mr. Dayakar Shetty now a days LTD names banks are for grade only it is better to work in Co-operative bank which pays high salary than LTD banks....Mr. Dayakar Shetty every one think of getting rich but this shortcut route is not good and specially working in our own prestigious bank.

It`s the greed and the opportunity to manipulate and make easy money that draws one to this sort of situation. Ultimately, one day, however, he or she will get caught and has to pay a heavy price. Human general nature is that more richer you are, the more richer you want to become, and there are many people like Dayakar Shetty in this world who by hook or crook, will strive to collect more money. Sadly though, only a few will get caught like Dayakar, while majority of them will get away.

Mr. Dayakar Shetty after working for more than 25 years you had to steal gold ornaments from the bank locker. You know these ornaments belonged to the people who had mortgaged them in return of money. It must not be one man show as others must have been involved as this was done during a period of months and recently the management of Vijaya Bank came to know of the theft.

A clerk of a bank who has 25 years of sevice is now drawing not less than 35,000 Gross salary. Is it not enough? Over ambition will lead people to jail and suicide nothing else.
Now don’t be worried return back all whatever is stolen and manage to live with the sources whatever you have and face life.

Most of the time I notice that when the culprits are caught, their faces are hidden from the media but this time he was paraded to the whole wide world. Why this double standard? May be he is an accused but he is innocent till proved guilty by the court. How will he ever recover from the stigma if he is found innocent?
