Billawa Balaga Dubai to Host Billawa Mahotsava 2010

Dubai, Oct 18: Billawa Balaga Dubai is celebrating its Thirteenth Anniversary this year and will be hosting the first event of Gulf Billawa Sangha in Dubai on 26th November, 2010 at Hotel Dhow Palace, Dubai between 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. The event has been named “Billawa Mahotsava 2010” and in future annual events shall be in this name.
  
Gulf Billawa Sangha was formed in 2008 during the First Gulf Billawa Samavesha in Bahrain under the leadership of Rajkumar, who was later nominated as the Founder President. Gulf Billawa Sangha is a federation of all the Billawa associations based in different countries in Gulf including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi.

In one of his visits to Dubai, Rajkumar - President of Gulf Billawa Sangha had appealed for unity, understanding and integrity among community members. Billawa Balaga Dubai would like to reinstate this statement and hence as a gesture of togetherness has taken lead from this and planned the event under Gulf Billawa Sangha this year.

Speaking to the press, Chandrashekar M, President of Billawa Balaga Dubai said that the mood of all Billawas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi was emphatic in organizing this event under the banner of Gulf Billawa Sangha and so we went ahead and took the initiative to do so. Hosting events is a regular affair that helps to keep up the Indian spirit amongst all and to spread the culture to others. What we have done this year is lent the wow factor and that has been well appreciated.

Madhav Hejamady - Secretary of Billawa Balaga Dubai noted that, coordinated events like this builds a spirit of oneness between various Billawa associations in Gulf and also eliminates over stress and overdoing events. This is one more step in our innovative initiatives.

The event will be a full day show in one of the prominent star hotel of Dubai (Dhow Palace) and Billawas in Dubai including Billawa Balaga Mahila Vibhaga and Billawara Balaga Abu Dhabi will show case their talent in this annual event organized by Billawa Balaga Dubai. Event management secretary Sachin Raj commented that this year event would see a lot of traditional performances as well as shows highlighting the Billawa culture and history.

Many prominent guests from overseas are expected to attend the event. U Narayan, Chairman of Narayan Guru Urban Co-Operative Bank - Udupi and Treasurer of Billawa Mahamandal will be the Chief Guest for the event. Other prominent guest of honor will include Sharada S Karkera - President of Billawa Mahila Balaga Mumbai and DB Amin – Ex Chairman of Bharat Co-Operative Bank and Industrialist.
 
From   the Gulf countries also many guests including Rajkumar from Bahrain, Madhav Amin from Saudi Arabia and Diwakar Poojary from Qatar are expected and will be joined by many more.

Yakshagana’s most famous and talented artist from Mangalore Seetaram Poojary Kateel, popularly known as the Charlie Chaplin of Yakshagana will be the guest artist and shall perform in yakshagana show at the event on the same day afternoon. Seetaram Kateel has been honored more than 250 times and Billawa Balaga Dubai will be the first overseas Billawa group to honor him.

Billawa Balaga Dubai has been the leaders in bringing to the gulf prominent guest from overseas who have contributed to the growth and development of the community and honored them irrespective of their association affiliation.
