Moodbidri: Thousands Pay Final Respects to Paladka Priest Fr Dolphy Monteiro

Moodbidri, Aug 20: The mortal remains of Fr Dolphy Monteiro (45), parish priest, St Ignatius Loyola Church, Paladka here was laid to rest on Friday August 20.

Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza offered the funeral Mass. Fr J B Saldanha, Jeppu Seminary, Mangalore, delivered the homily during the Holy Mass while Fr Onil D’Souza, director of Canara Organization for Development and Peace (CODP), Mangalore offered tributes on behalf of diocesan clergies.

 

















Wilfred Monteiro, brother of the late Fr Dolphy Monteiro offered tributes on behalf of his family, while Paladka parish council vice- president Wilfred Sequeira offered tributes on behalf of parishioners.

Hundreds of diocesan priests and a large number of well-wishers joined in the final journey of Fr Dolphy Monteiro at the parish cemetery.

It may be recalled that Fr Dolphy Monteiro passed way in a tragic incident when his bike skid and he fell into into a nearby well on Wednesday August 18.

    Fr.Dolphy served as Parish Priest at Jeppu-Mangalore Diocese for Six years and then he left for USA. We wonder why there was no mention about this fact. Was it done purposely to hurt the feelings of Jeppu Parishioners. Can anybody reply to this Especially Fr.Onil(CODP)
