Panaji: Cyber Crime Cell arrests one for cheating man of Rs 20 lac

Panaji, Jan 24: On Saturday the Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) of Goa police arrested Swapnil Naik for duping a person from Sattari of Rs 20 lakh by creating fake social media account in the name of a girl.

Swapnil Naik the culprit befriended the victim through the fake social media account and started demanding money by giving various reasons including payment to get a job and father’s illness.

The victim was requested to deposit the money in different accounts belonging to different persons. A few days ago, Naik, who pretended to be a VIP, checked into a hotel in Bengaluru with five bodyguards and fled without paying the room rent.
