About NTSE

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarship programmes in India, conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The programme was started in 1963 as National Science Talent Search Scheme (NSTSS) as an initiative to identify talented students and nurture them by financially assisting their education through scholarships. Every year around three million students attempt NTSE in which only 1,000 are selected. The qualifiers are called NTSE scholars which gives them lifetime recognition in society while they get scholarships for their whole academic career till PhD. Students in classes 11 and 12 receive a sum of Rs 1,250 per month undergraduate and postgraduate students receive Rs 2,000 per month and the stipend for PhD students varies according to University Grants Commission (UGC) norms. NTSE is an objective type exam hence demanding a deep understanding of the subjects which also prepares the students for future competitive examinations like JEE and NEET.
