Mangaluru: Y Mohammed Beary passes away at 65

Mangaluru, Jan 16: Y Mohammed Beary (65), correspondent of Ideal English Medium School, Yedapadavu, passed away due to illness at a private hospital on Saturday January 16.

Mohammed Beary had served the Syndicate Bank for 22 years. After taking voluntary retirement from service, he got involved in the field of education. He also served as the president of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi English Medium Schools' Federation, and chairman of Muslim Educational Institutions’ Federation, Dakshina Kannada. He was the president of Mangaluru Air Crash Victims' Families Association.

Mohammed Beary delicately worked to bring the Muslim community ahead in the field of education. He also brought the problems of rural students before the government and worked to resolve it.

He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
