Bengaluru: 'Savour Bevu-Bella, use only Kannada for Work’ campaign launched by KDA

Bengaluru, Jan 15: The Kannada Development Authority on Friday launched a unique programme, 'Savour Jaggery-Gingilly (Bevu-Bella), use only Kannada for Work', in front of the four entrances of Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha by offering the packets to all staff and officers entering the seats of power of the state government.

The campaign was undertaken by Kannada Development Authority (KDA) chairman T S Nagabharana by offering packets of jaggery and gingilly, which are distributed on the occasion of the Makara Sankranti festival was aimed at creating awareness among the state government staff and officials on the implementation of Kannada in the administration.

Nagabharana said as many as 48 important departments of the state governments were functioning from Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha buildings in Bengaluru and it would be easier if all the staff and officials make a commitment to use only Kannada for work.

The campaign undertaken by the Kannada Development Authority seeks to give a boost to the promise made by chief minister B S Yediyurappa on the eve of the Rajyotsava Day to mark the entire year as 'Kannada Kaayaka Varsha'", he said.

Nagabharana said Kannada must have primacy in the state and Kannadigas must get priority in jobs in the state.
