Mangaluru: Saxophone maestro Kadri Gopalnath memorial to be inaugurated on Dec 6

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The memorial of Saxophone maestro Kadri Gopalnath will be inaugurated on December 6 at his home town Sajipa Munnur, informed his son and musician Manikanth Kadri.

Addressing the media here on Thursday December 3, he said, "MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel will garland the memorial, former gram panchayat member Sadananda Poonja, RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, Dharmadarshi Sri Kshetra Mandarabail Prakash Pandith, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik, Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja and others will be present during the inauguration."

“We have planned to construct a cultural centre on a five-acre land in Mangaluru in memory of Kadri Gopalnath similar to Kalamandalam model in Thrissur. The centre will be focused on exhibiting the culture, art form, Yakshagana and also train others on the same. Three days of cultural events will also be held in the coming days in his memory,” he said.

Manikanth said that Gurunamana cultural event will be held during the memorial inauguration in which his disciples from Bengaluru and Chennai will perform.
