Kaup: Pedestrian dies as speeding bus knocks him down

Kaup, Dec 3: A man died when a speeding bus knocked him down whilst he was walking on the footpath near the Indian petrol bunk.

The deceased is identified as Sunil, the elder brother of Sudarshan (30), son of Raju Karkera, a resident of Ankudru of Udyavara village.

Sunil was walking on the footpath on national highway 66 near the Indian petro pump at around 8.20 pm on Wednesday December 2, when a bus, bearing registration number KA-19-AA-5205, coming from Mangaluru and driven at high speed by the driver of the bus, Mohammed Irfan, hit Sunil. Sunil who was knocked down by the bus received serious injuries to his head and died on the spot.

A case in this regard is registered at Kaup police station under crime sl no 92/2020 and column 279, 304 (a) of IPC.
