Mangaluru: Webinar on Human Rights and Socio-Economic Justice held at St Aloysius Pre-University Col

Mangaluru, Nov 27: A webinar on 'Significance of Human Rights and Socio-Economic Justice' was organised on November 25 by St Aloysius Pre University College for its teaching staff.

The resource person, Lara Jesnani, an advocate of Mumbai High Court addressed the teaching staff of St Aloysius PU College. Jesnani has been practicing law in Indian courts for over a decade and is currently an independent litigator with her primary practice based out of Mumbai High Court and National Green Tribunal. She is an ad-hoc committee member of the Maharashtra unit of People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) as well as a National Working Committee member of People's Commission on Shrinking Democratic Spaces (PCSDS) and part of Human Rights Defenders Alert (HRDA).

Speaking to the faculty, Lara Jesnani said that we are equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. She also highlighted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations. Mark Pereira introduced the resource person to the participants and Meural Furtado proposed the vote of thanks. 132 staff enthusiastically participated in the webinar.
