Mangalore Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan Inaugurated

Mangalore, Apr 30: The annual taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelan was inaugurated here at the Town Hall by well-known Kannada litterateur, Prof Sa Shi Marulaiah on Friday April 30. For the Sammelan, the surroundings of the Town Hall have been transformed to look like a village.

Veteran writer, Bola Chittaranjandas Shetty, presided over the Sammelan. The colourful procession taken out on the occasion from the office of the deputy commissioner, was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada district additional deputy commissioner, Prabhakar Sharma.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs, Yogish Bhat, Abhaychandra Jain, U T Khader, mayor Rajani Dugganna etc., participated.

After the inaugural of the Sammelan, two sessions were conducted. The valedictory function will be organized in the evening. Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, V Ponnurj, is scheduled to felicitate 14 achievers in the evening. At night, various cultural programmes will be presented.
