Bantwal, Oct 28: In connection with the murder of actor Surendra Bantwal at Vasti apartment, Bhandaribettu here on October 20, both the arrested murder-accused were produced in the court on Tuesday October 27.

At the request of the police the court remanded the accused to five days of police custody.

The arrested accused in the case are Sathish Kulal (39) from Ajekala at Amtady in the taluk, and Gireesh (28), resident of Bondantila, Neermarga, Mangaluru. Both were produced in Bantwal court.

The dagger used by the murder-accused for the crime has been seized. After hearing the plea made on behalf of the police who said that the accused need to be probed deeply, the court upheld their request for police custody.

Investigation in the case is being conducted under the directions of Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police Laxmi Prasad, by Bantwal police inspector Nagaraj, with the support of police sub-inspectors Avinash, Prasanna, Nandakumar, Vinod and others.
