Mangaluru: Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 27.36 lac from Dubai returnee

Mangaluru, Oct 23: Customs officials at Mangaluru airport have seized gold valued at Rs 27.36 lac from a passenger who had arrived from Dubai on an Air India Express flight no IX 1384 on October 20.

The passenger who has been identified as Ashraf Mohammed had tried to smuggle the gold in a powdered form by carrying it in his body.

The gold which has been seized in the said case is 24 carats with a purity of 531.390 gms and valued at Rs 27,36,659.

    Simply at all why you all bring gold unnecessarily and loose everything when you know you will be caught... Waste of money and going under stress. Dont you read in the news? What you bring will go into the pocket of others instead of going to the government legally. Few days back one officer was caught...
