Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve: Your affordable health buddy 24/7

By Md Waquar Haider

New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS): Smartwatches have grabbed the attention of youth and fitness freaks in India who were accustomed to cheaper smart bands to monitor basic parameters. Smartphone leader Xiaomi has entered the growing segment with its first Mi Watch Revolve that aims to woo consumers who are not able to buy smartwatches owing to a heavier price tag.

The Xiaomi Mi Watch Revolve comes for Rs 10,999 and as part of the launch offer, it will be available for Rs 9,999 on Amazon India, mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting October 6.

The smartwatch comes in two colours -- midnight black and chrome silver with replaceable silicone straps in space black, neptune blue, cosmic dust and astral olive colours.

There's a leather strap in midnight black that will be available at a later date.

Let see if Mi Watch Revolve justifies its arrival in a price segment dominated by the likes of Huami Amazfit GTS, Honor Watch Magic, Huawei Watch GT and Fossil Sport Unisex, among others.

Mi Watch Revolve features premium metal design with a 46mm dial, an AMOLED Display with a resolution of 454 x 454 giving an impressive pixel density of 326ppi, ensuring colourful and crisp images.

It also comes with 450 nits brightness, so you can easily see it even under direct sunlight. During the review, we didn't face any issues while using the smartwatch outdoors.

Featuring an ‘Always on Display' feature, Mi Watch Revolve shows time without any click and goes off when it detects the user not wearing one which also helps in saving battery.

It offers 100 plus watch faces and also has replaceable watch straps that come in different colours.

Let us move on to health and fitness.

The wearable uses the ‘Firstbeat Motion' algorithm that provides physiological data for sports and wellness.

The smartwatch offers a slew of features such as VO2 Max, Energy level, Stress level, Sleep quality and much more.

HR Monitor monitors heart rate on the go and understands if the heart is beating too fast or slow.

The VO2 Max feature captures how much oxygen user's body is able to utilise during maximum activity.

Meanwhile, body energy monitoring calculates energy value in real-time by monitoring and analysing various body data collected throughout the day.

Based on heart rate variability, Mi Watch Revolve measures the stress levels and shares timely reminders and professional recovery suggestions when the stress is too high.

The smartwatch comes with 10 professional sports modes to track your daily fitness needs including running, cycling, running, hiking, treadmill, spinning, walking and exercising, etc.

One can easily select any mode before kicking off the activity.

The smartwatch also has 5 ATM (50 meters) waterproof ratings and can easily be used when swimming (whenever the pools open).

The smartwatch packs 420mAh battery and company promises up to 14 days of battery life.

The Mi Watch Revolve is compatible with all Android and iOS devices as users just need to download the Xiaomi Wear companion app from the respective app stores.

Conclusion: If you are wearing a fitness band, moving onto Mi Watch Revolve will be a good idea for accessing a plethora of top-end health options at a modest price.

Smartwatches are slowly but steadily evolving and Mi Watch Revolve is no exception.

As health becomes the topmost priority for millions in the social distancing times, wearing a health buddy 24/7 makes perfect sense so go for it.
