Mumbai: 27-year-old arrested with fake notes, face value of Rs 89,000

Mumbai, Oct 1: A 27-year-old man was arrested over possession of fake notes in Lower Parel on Wednesday, September 30.

The fake currency possessed by the accused amounted nearly face value of Rs 89,000.

The accused is identified as Deepak Gunje. The police seized the fake currency possessed by Deepak along with a laptop, laser scanner, printer and paper used to print the notes.

The crime branch officials reportedly got tipped of Deepak's possession of fake notes of Rs 100 denomination. The police successfully laid a trap and arrested him.
