Mysuru, Oct 1: IAS officer B Sharath has approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) complaining about his transfer within a short period after taking charge as the deputy commissioner of Mysuru district.

The CAT which admitted his application on Wednesday September 30, has served notice to the government seeking its response. A two-member bench of the tribunal comprising judicial representative Suresh Kumar Monga and administrative member Rakesh Kumar Gupta admitted the application. It served notice on the government seeking to know the reason behind Sharath's sudden transfer within a month after he reported for duty at his current place of posting.

Sharath said that he had been deployed as the deputy commissioner of Mysuru district a month back. He said that he has now been transferred all of a sudden and another IAS officer, Rohini Sindhuri has been posted in his place. He has sought cancellation of his transfer order duly arguing that as per administrative rules it was wrong on the part of the government to transfer him without giving any justifiable reason and sought cancellation of his transfer order.

Advocate A S Ponnanna presented arguments on behalf of the petitioner. The case has been posted to October 7.
