From Ayodhya title suit to Babri verdict, RSS talks amity, trust

New Delhi, Sep 30 (IANS): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological mentor to the Vishva Hindu Parishad which led the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, sent out a note of mutual amity and trust after the verdict on the Babri masjid case on Wednesday.

Expectedly, it has also welcomed the verdict.

"The RSS welcomes the verdict by a special CBI court in case of the demolition of the disputed Babri structure where all the accused are being acquitted with due respect. After this verdict, all sections of society should come together with mutual trust and amity to successfully face the upcoming challenges in the country and take the nation to the path of development," said a statement issued by Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, the RSS's Sarkaryavah.

Interestingly, even ahead of the title dispute verdict in the Supreme Court last year , the RSS top brass reached out to influential Muslim bodies and held a number meetings to decide that both sides will abide by the verdict, whichever way it went.

It avoided any law and order situation post the verdict. Today's well-restrained statement by the RSS also reinforces the same sentiment of peace and mutual trust.

A special CBI court hearing the Babri mosque demolition case of December 6, 1992, acquitted all 32 accused on Wednesday, saying it was a spontaneous and not a planned move.

Those acquitted in the case that lasted 28 years include former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, former Union Ministers M.M. Joshi, Uma Bharti, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh and Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, among others.

RSS itself is the thorn in the trust.

The mutual trust existed until RSS began controlling the Indian politics and mixing politics with religion. RSS...You yourself are the biggest challenge this country needs to get rid off.
