M'luru: Student molestation, robbery case - Accused sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment

Mangaluru, Sep 28: In a case of forceful entry into ladies hostel and outraging the modesty of a medical student and robbery that occurred in 2017, the accused was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) by the judge of sixth additional district and sessions court here on Monday September 28.

Accused Nagesh (30) is the person who is convicted by Justice Saidunnisa in the case that took place under the Ullal police station limits in 2017.

The case pertains to a 22-year-old, girl MBBS student of Kerala origin, who was residing in a hostel at Deralkatte on the outskirts of the city.

Convict Nagesh had entered the hostel at around 4.30 am through the pipeline that was behind the hostel and had threatened the girl medical student with life and forced her to give Rs five lac. He took Rs 3,000 from the wallet of the student and also took the ATM card with pin number. In addition, the convict had also stolen the mobile phone of a girl student who was sleeping in the next room.

After threatening and getting the ATM card from the victim, the convict had withdrawn money from an ATM at Kankanady using her card. The culprit was identified based on the fingerprints and CCTV at the ATM.

    Wow!! Seven years rigorous imprisonment is not enough.He should be either shot dead or killed through encounter.That is the best punishment to the insane person like him.This kind of people not deserved to be on this earth.

    This robber will get support sangh parivar who will stage dharna accusing him of innocent and he will get ticket from bjp in next election. He is all the qualificatins bjp needs for its candidate.
