Mumbai, Sep 28: Timely intervention of Mumbai police saved the life of a student who had posted his suicidal plans on social media. According to the police, he is in his twenties and doing his MBA.

A journalist alerted the police on the post. A screenshot of the post was going viral... I was told that the student's friends were trying to reach him but he wasn't answering calls. I then got in touch with the police," the journalist said.

With the help of his IP address, the police tracked down the number and address at Santa Cruz (east). The student was finally contacted by officials from Nirmal Nagar police station and counselled him and asked his family to extend the necessary support.

The student said that his parents' inability to pay fees had upset him. He, however, extended gratitude to all those who helped and supported him and apologized for his behaviour. He felt that not being able to pay the fees would end his career altogether.
