Former minister Anand Asnotikar detained at Bengaluru airport after pistol found in baggage

Bengaluru, Sep 19: A pistol was found in the baggage belonging to former minister Anand Asnotikar at the Kempegowda International Airport in the city during baggage check here on Saturday September 19.

Police have taken Asnotikar into custody and are investigating further.

Anand Asnotikar was scheduled to fly to Goa from Kempegowda aiport at 11 am on Saturday. However, he was taken into custody by the airport police as pistol was found in his baggage.

Officials concerned need to be notified before carrying gun or pistol into the aircraft. It is said that Asnotikar did not follow the rule. Sources however said that the pistol he was carrying was licensed.

Anand Asnotikar contested on JD(S) ticket from Ankola-Karwar assembly constitutency in the 2018 Karanataka assembly elections and had lost to BJP candidate Roopali Naik.

    Whatever he says that his pistol is licenced,it requires also further permission to carry in flights too whether in his jacket or in baggage.Even in Baggage it can too harm during flight if not kept according to rules.And whole flight might go in fire ans ashes.

    He has carried a licensed pistol in the luggage (which was put in the luggage by his wife of which he was not aware...!!!!????). Being a politician just not to declare to the airport officials is not a big crime......!!!!!???? This is what is going to happen in this case.
