Mangaluru: Carmel School hosts patriotic Independence Day celebration


Mangaluru, Aug 15: The Carmel School staff along with the campus staff began the 74th Independence Day celebration with a flag hoisting programme.

Sr Marie Lucy AC, the joint secretary was the chief guest. Sr Maria Shamitha AC, the provincial superior of Karnataka province and Sr Maria Shubha AC, the educational secretary of Karnataka province were also the other dignitaries. The chief guest hoisted the flag and delivered the message.

This was followed by a programme planned by the staff which began with an invocation followed by a prayer service imploring God’s blessings on our motherland and its citizens. A patriotic song exemplified the bounty of Bharath Matha.



The students Nia Francisca Pais, Shreya J and Kanisha K paid a virtual tribute to the patriots, soldiers, martyrs and to all those who work tirelessly for the growth and development of our nation.

Sr Sarika, the principal in her thought-provoking message offered a clarion call to uphold the values of liberty, equality and fraternity.

Sharada and Bharathi vibrantly compered the programme in Hindi and also proposed the vote of thanks. Sr Rose Agnes, the administrator and the entire faculty were present.
