J&K's Covid tally crosses 26,000, toll rises to 498


Srinagar, Aug 12 (IANS): A total of 482 people tested positive for coronavirus in J&K on Wednesday, taking the Union Territory's tally to 26,413, while the death toll rose to 498 with eight more succumbing to the disease.

A statement by the Information and Public Relations Department said that of the new cases, 106 were from the Jammu division and 376 from the Kashmir division.

A total of 544 patients were discharged after complete recovery, taking the number of cured to 18,523.

J&K's active cases now number 7,392, out of which 1,822 are from the Jammu division and 5,570 from the Kashmir division.
