Absolutely traumatized and deeply saddened by the unexpected demise of a good friend and a wonderful human being. When I joined CYM (Sastan) Robert was the youth leader who was highly respected by one and all, not only in the parish but beyond. I was impressed by his leadership qualities and his talent as a Konkani writer. If my memory doesn’t deceive me, he was also the Editor of “Amcho Yuvak”. I always admired his hard work and humility. Enjoy the heavenly peace my friend. Send your blessings to your wife Pramila, daughters Roshni, Rashmi, Raveena and all the loved ones so that they may get the strength to accept this great loss. Goodbye my friend. Miss you for the rest of my life.

RIP .My heartfelt condolences to his family
Unscientific way of oven manufacturing is the suspected root cause.
Huge ovens like used in bakery work on LPG.
There is massive amount of LPG inflow to the burner.
Evoporated oil sludge deposition inside the furnace at high temperature add the risk.
If continuity of burning is lost there will be accumulated LPG which is explosive mixture.
Authorities must strictly impose life saving calibrated instruments such as gas sensors, pressure sensors;Hydrocarbon relief dampers, temperature sensors etc.

My sympathies are with the bereaved family.

Such accidents do happen frequently in a furnace. When the fuel leaks it gets accumulated inside the furnace, in this case oven, and there forms an explosive mixture. A spark or some sort of ignition results into a blast. These type of primitive bakery ovens running on LPG are inherently unsafe and operators need to be extra alert.

Very tragic accident. Shocked to know that blast occurred in a bakery oven.
Really worrying point was so many houses use ovens, small and big. But they are electrically operated. But in this case of bakery oven it seems it is LPG operated as can be seen from photographs which are prone to blasts if there is gas leakage or burner kept on without igniting.

I still cannot come out of the shock that struck my heart pounding rate spiked abnormally, when i heard the tragic news of my very good friend and a Lion Colleague left for heavenly abode within a twinkle of an eye.

We always shared our friendly, professional and intellectual views from whom i learnt humility, tolerance, love for nature and compassion for others. Once such chat we had was day before yesterday. It may be hard for me to forget his hearty laughs and instant humor. I find no further words to visualize and explain his personality as a good and nice individual who is no more with us today.

May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his wife and children to bear this great loss of their loving father.

Some 30 years back he started the concept of ATHAMANIRBHAR business in remote village at Airody by manufacturing bread, which ultimately helped many to earn bread by employment.
