Dubai: Flexible working hours to be implemented for govt staff from Aug 16

Dubai, Aug 9: In a bid to improve safety and lift happiness of government staff, the Dubai government has decided to implement flexible work hours from August 16.

The decision was announced on Saturday which stated that starting August 16 flexible working hours for government employees will be implemented.

The announcement was made by Emirate's human resource authority.

Dubai Government circular read government employees may start their work in the morning at any time between 6.30 am and 8.30 am, provided that they complete their official work hours determined by the department. It also clarified that rule will not apply to some employees - including those whose job requires continuous communication with the public and others working in shifts.

“Decision was taken to boost the happiness of government staff and ensure their safety, especially during emergency weather conditions,” said Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, director-general of the DGHR.
