Udupi: 82-year-old man dies due to coronavirus, district death toll rises to 5

Udupi, Jul 14: As the coronavirus infection cases spike in number more people is succumbing to the disease. While the state continues to deal with the pandemic, Udupi recorded a fifth death. The deceased is identified as a resident of Kaup taluk in the district.

The 82-year-old who passed away due to the infection on the evening of Monday, July 13, was admitted to the hospital for lungs and kidney ailment. Following the death of the octogenarian man, his swab test was collected. On Tuesday, July 14 the test results confirmed the coronavirus infection.

The funeral for the deceased was held at the Beedingudde cremation ground as per required coronavirus protocol.
