India's Covid tally will cross 10L mark this week: Rahul

New Delhi, Jul 14 (IANS): Questioning the Narendra Modi government over the handling of the novel coronavirus situation in the country, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the country's tally will cross 10 lakh mark this week.

"This week the figure will cross 10,00,000 in our country," Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet attaching a news report.

In the report, the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned that the Covid-19 pandemic will get "worse and worse" if governments fail to take more decisive action.

WHO Director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday said, "too many countries [were] headed in the wrong direction", the BBC reported.

On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, who is also a Lok Sabha MP from Kerala's Wayanad, alluding to a graph which showed a rise in daily coronavirus cases across the world took a dig saying, "India at good position in COVID-19 battle?"

The former Congress chief has been critical of the government over the handling of the pandemic situation in the country by the Centre.

10 L or 10 crore, since it is a virus and airborne it is bound to happen. Mostly aged or those with low immunity and co-morbidities need to take cautions and extra medical care. But due to lockdown and economic losses suffering will be more.

Nothing to worry. We know that there will not be any Congress or other party to rule the country . The present dispensation has so much money in their hand they can buy and sell anybody .Even COVID is not an issue. We can handle it till the year 2024 i.e, next election .

The DCM Dr. Ashwath Narayana of Karnataka has already told election is far away. So no worries.

Hope only that our Ministers , MP , MLA's do not die because of COVID-19 because they have to rule the nation at will.

So? its not reducing anywhere around the world. Especially with a geographically huge and densely populated country in India. Till a vaccine is launched the virus will keep on spreading. Say something new. Set your house in order first. Apparently you are using diversion tactics to conceal the Rajasthan humiliating fiasco. The BJP is following the tactic 'never intervene when enemy makes a mistake'.
So this will be your new self goal. Ideally you should have realized when you lost your family bastion Amethi.

RG seems to be happy whenever things go bad for India - Covid , China, Economy , unemployment etc.
I don’t think we would have seen anything better regarding Covid if he was in power as PM.

    Kuchanna,

What do you mean by infrastructure for disaster? No one expected a disaster like Covid but still in India we do have few world class infrastructures. First of all you can't ask Raga about developments since he was never part of any government.

    1. ISRO-- space agency that even UK does not have it's own.
    2. AIIMS- one of the top Medical Institution in the world. (government)
    3. IIT - One of the top Engineering Institute in the world - many of them
    4. DRDO- Defense Research organization which develops missile and rockets
    5. HAL - Aeronautics that developed light combat Aircraft
    6. Mazgaon Dock - Developed War ships and Frigates.
    7. IT industry. Made appropriate laws to make this country, what it is now it terms of IT.

India can boast of having so many locally built missiles, satellites and having a mighty army. Can compete with the rest of the world, in Pharmaceuticals, Motor vehicles. Boast about it's nuclear capabilities, moon landing, a big player in commercial rocket/satellite launching.

Since British left India in 1947, with one war tank left, t is about about 73 years. Out of these 73 years, Congress and it's allies were in power for 56 years. BJP and it's allies were in power for 17 years.
Can you point out ANY infrastructure built during those 17 years? Or any of those above infrastructure is developed by the BJP and it's allies?
