KMC Manipal collaborates with BCCS to provide health cards services

Udupi, Jul 13: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society and KMC Manipal for 'Manipal Card' - a health discount benefit card at a programmme held at Jagannath Bhavan here on Monday July 13.

Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital handed over the MoU to Jayakar Shetty Indrali, general manager of the bank.

Dr Avinash speaking on the occasion emphasized the importance of health insurance, especially in recent times. "Health insurance is needed for all today. Generally private companies offer health insurance for a higher premium amount. The 'Arogya Card' is a discount card and not an insurance policy. KMC Manipal has been serving Arogya cards for twenty years. The Arogya card facility is available at KMC hospital Manipal, Dr TMA Pai hospital Udupi, KMC hospital Mangaluru, Dental Medical College, KMC in Goa and the hospital in Kateel," he said.

He said that in the beginning, there was not much hope of success, but every year the public has responded positively and benefited from it.



The card can be availed at Manipal Hospital, Dr TMA Pai Hospital Udupi, KMC Hospital and Dental College Mangaluru, KMC Hospital Goa and KMC Hospital Kateel, he said.

Jayakar Shetty said that as a part of the centenary celebration 106 programmes were hosted. "We have already distributed over Rs 16 lac compensation and distributed health kits. We are providing health cards to our customers by collaborating with KMC Manipal in order to provide good health service. We have already delivered more than 611 cards in 12 days and will meet even more clients," he said.

Umanath Kotian, vice president, BCCS; Sachin Karanth, KMC Arogya card Marketing head; Mohan Shetty, Marketing head; Purushottam Shetty of Bank Centenary celebration committee were present among others.
