Scindia says Pilot too persecuted, Cong has its deja vu moment

New Delhi, Jul 12 (IANS): As Rajasthan politics heats up over Congress Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot being summoned by the police of his own government, his old party colleague turned BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has added to the intra-Congress tussle by saying that Pilot is being "persecuted" by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

In a tweet that has intensified speculation about the BJP's next move, Scindia said, "Sad to see my erstwhile colleague, Sachin Pilot, too being sidelined and persecuted by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot. Shows that talent and capability find little credence in the Congress."

Scindia, who too was kept out of power ever since the party's victory in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, recently jumped ship to the BJP along with his followers, leading to the fall of the Kamal Nath-led Congress government in the state.

Both Scindia and Pilot have worked closely in the party as junior ministers in the UPA government.

Now after Gehlot alleging that the BJP is trying to repeat a MP-like coup in Rajasthan with an upset Pilot and a slew of pro-Pilot MLAs camping in the national capital, Scindia's tweet saying Pilot is being "persecuted" has forced the Congress to seriously work on the number games.

The Congress' strength in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly is 102, while its ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has one MLA. After six Bahujan Samaj Party MLAs joined the Congress, the ruling party's score in the House climbed up to 108. Add to that the support of 13 Independents, and 2 Bharatiya Tribal Party and two CPI-M MLAs, the party's tally stands at 125.

Meanwhile, the BJP has 72 MLAs, plus 3 lawmakers from alliance partner Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).

Party sources said that around 20-25 MLAs could reportedly back Pilot if he leaves the party and joins the BJP. In that case, the Congress' numbers will fall below 100, while the BJP might touch 100-figure mark.

Sources said that Gehlot has spoken to Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi, Rajasthan party affairs in-charge Avinash Pandey, and Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal to apprise them of the developments in his state.

Barely months ago, then a Congress leader, Scindia had reached the national capital after being upset with Kamal Nath for not ceding him any political ground in the state, before joining the BJP along with his followers.

Now, another upset Congress leader is camping in Delhi with his followers. Scindia's tweet will surely give the grand old party its deja vu moment.

That Rajesh Pilot would leave the Congress was a foregone conclusion. The way Congress functions under the present so called high command, this was bound to happen. The pity is when will this party realise their blunders and throw out Sonia and her family. For the sake of democracy, the Congress must be revived at all costs and this can be done only and only if this family is ousted. The earlier this is done, the better it will be for our country and democracy.

The Scindia Royal family are technically traitors, refusing refuge to Rani Laxmi Bai and owing allegiance to the then British Empire. Why is it then that BJP are regarded so highly by the Indian voters?

The Gwalior’s defeat at Dholpur in 1844 brought the Scindia army under British control. With the outbreak of the Sepoy Mutiny from May 1857, the British used Scindia’s contingents to suppress the rebels at Agra and Etawah. For this Major Macpherson paid Rs. 4.5 lakhs to Scindia.

This Junior Scindia's ancestors sold their loyalty to British then for Rs 4.5 lakh. These dynasty of traitors broke the alliance between Mysore, Hyderabad and Marathas, but also broke Maratha unity, splitting Scindia from Holkar. That led to the fall of 'Maratha's' in India.

Today this Junior scindia for the sake of Union Ministry is betrying his own voters like his grand father betrayed 'Jhansi Laxmi Bai'.

Those who rejoice, its sad sign of democracy. People want power and others have money. Horse trading is a thriving business. Corona virus and crown ambition. Shame to this type of political cancer. Even money meant for the poor is being looted and still we the voters do not hold our politicians and government responsible.

Scindia, you have a coward blood in you, your ancestors too have betrayed India. Pilot will not bring such harm to the party. BTW, sorry to see your state now worse than before. Na Ghar Ka Na Ghat Ka.

When will Cong and its stop living in delusion and accept reality?? Even its booth level workers are confronted with questions like 'What are the accomplishments of Cong''? from people when they go door to door asking for votes. Besides looking up they had no answer. Youngsters can only take the party forward. When will they given chance. Even in MCC elections some minorities joined BJP .
What more proof is required. ? Internet sevaking is not going to garner votes and revive party. The situation is pathetic . If you call for a protest you will have a max of 30 people. Do you call that revival.? is this how we will campaign for 2024?
