Mangalore: Annual Feast of Holy Spirit Church, Mukka Celebrated

Mangalore, Feb 11: The annual feast of Holy Spirit Church, Mukka was celebrated on Wednesday February 10.

17 priests conducted the holy mass on the occasion. The main sermon of the day was given by Fr Antony Lobo, parish priest of sacred heart church, Surathkal.


 

All the priests present were honoured by the parish vice-president Treeza Monteiro and parish council secretary Alphonse Pereira. A lithurgy was conducted by the members of parish council. A choir group led by Richard Monteiro and Celine D’souza presented melodious hymns.

Confraternity Sunday was celebrated as a preparation to the annual feast on Sunday February 7.There was a sacramental procession from Mukka junction to the church with people holding candles and singing hymns along with the brass band.

Fr Prakash Anil D’Silva, assistant parish priest of Bajpe parish, celebrated the Holy Eucharistic Mass along with Fr Lawrence Martis, parish priest of Mukka Church, Fr Johny Jose and Deacon Robert D`Souza.

First time in the history of Holy Spirit Church, a procession was organized on Confraternity Sunday. All the parishioners actively took part in the grand celebration.
